Our fifth race weekend with RYS Team Holinger on the Nürburgring
The last race weekend of this season is over! It took place on the famous Nürburgring in Germany during the Blancpain GT Series race weekend.
On Friday our drivers used their time on track during the free practice sessions to get to know the track better. Both of them have not driven there before. During the sessions we found out that something was wrong with the car because it was slower than the other KTMs, especially on the straights. Our head engineer tried to find the problem during the night and fixed some small things.
The qualifying on Saturday did not go well because the car still had a lack of performance like the day before. At the end we finished Qualifying 1 on P24 and Qualifying 2 on P29. After this session our engineers, including the head engineers, and the mechanics searched again for the reason of the engine performance problem. After a long search they found the problem and we hoped that this was the only one. During race 1 we saw that the car was running much better and our great drivers were able to overtake a lot of cars and finished on P14. Our driver Samuel Sladecka did some really fast laps and was able to win for a second time in the RYS Cup Race.
In race 2 we were also able to improve our position. We started from P29 and finished on P14, which means our drivers overtook 15 cars during the race! This time our other driver, Emil Westman, showed a really good performance, had some very good laps and finished this RYS Cup Race on third place. It was his second RYS Cup podium!
Now the season is over! We will post a detailed summary and resume from our year in the next few days!
